چکیده
T h i s paper introduces a locat ion update pol icy which min imizes the cost of mobile t e rmina l ( M T ) location tracking. An M T dynamica l l y de t e rmines when t o per form locat ion update based o n i ts mobil i ty p a t t e r n a n d the incoming call arrival probability. T h e per formance of this s c h e m e is close to tha t of t he op t ima l pol icy reported earlier. However , t he processing t i m e requirement of this s c h e m e is ve ry low. T h e m i n i m a l compu ta t ion required by this s c h e m e enables i ts usage in M T s which h a s l imited energy supply and compu ta t iona l power.

A distributed scheme for integrated predictive dynamic channel and power allocation in cellular radi - Global Telecommunications Conference, 2001. GLOBECOM '01. IEEE
We propose a distributed Dynamic Channel and Power Allocation (DCPA) scheme based on a novel predictive power control algorithm. The Minimum Interference Dynamic Channel Assignment algorithm is employed, while simple Kalman Filters are designed to provide the predicted measurements of both the channel gains and the interference levels, which are then used to update the power levels. Extensive c...
متن کاملTarget Tracking Based on Virtual Grid in Wireless Sensor Networks
One of the most important and typical application of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is target tracking. Although target tracking, can provide benefits for large-scale WSNs and organize them into clusters but tracking a moving target in cluster-based WSNs suffers a boundary problem. The main goal of this paper was to introduce an efficient and novel mobility management protocol namely Target Tr...
متن کاملMDLT: A Polynomial Time Optimal Algorithm for Maximization of Time-to-First-Failure in Energy Constrained Wireless Broadcast Networks - Global Telecommunications Conference, 2003. GLOBECOM '03. IEEE
We consider the problem of maximizing the timeto-first-failure, defined as the time till the first node in the network runs out of battery energy, in energy constrained broadcast wireless networks. We discuss a greedy algorithm and prove that it solves the problem optimally for a broadcast application, in polynomial time, provided the complete power matrix and the battery residual capacities ar...
متن کاملTransmission subspace tracking for MIMO communications systems - Global Telecommunications Conference, 2001. GLOBECOM '01. IEEE
This paper describes the benefits of transmission subspace tracking for multiple input multiple output communications systems, and applies the concepts of previous work on adaptive transmit antenna algorithms to this problem. A specific stochastic gradient technique of subspace or “multi-mode” tracking of the independent modes of the MIMO transfer function and the application to space time codi...
متن کاملPrototyping Real-Time Full-Duplex Radios - Solutions - National Instruments
Our research group at Yonsei University is working on the development of future wireless communications from theory to prototyping. We have collaborated with the NI advanced wireless research team through the RF/Communications Lead User Program since 2014. We demonstrated a real-time full-duplex LTE system at IEEE GLOBECOM in Austin, Texas, in December 2014. Based on this prototype, we can elab...
